{"id":322087,"date":"2023-03-30T09:57:46","date_gmt":"2023-03-30T16:57:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdnews.com\/?p=322087"},"modified":"2023-03-30T09:57:46","modified_gmt":"2023-03-30T16:57:46","slug":"midas-of-la-mesa-holding-food-drive-to-benefit-san-diego-food-bank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/midas-of-la-mesa-holding-food-drive-to-benefit-san-diego-food-bank\/","title":{"rendered":"Midas of La Mesa holding food drive to benefit San Diego Food Bank"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Midas of La Mesa is holding a food drive April 1-9 to benefit the San Diego Food Bank.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Midas, which is holding the food drive at 7207 University Avenue in La Mesa, also has a location at 1805 Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach that will be participating.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">This year, to celebrate this great Midas tradition, in honor of their 67th birthday on April 20, the company is setting their sights on completing 67 acts of Kindness (by 67 stores teams) in the cities, towns and suburbs where they operate\u2014all during the month of April.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Events will include blood drives, catalytic converter theft-prevention sessions, collections for food banks, Project Spark car donations, Little League sponsorships and more. Midas aims to give back, show pride and show their commitment to the communities they serve.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">David Khames, owner of Midas of La Mesa, is doing a food drive to help give back to the community.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201c<span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">We know how important food is to every breathing creature,\u201d Khames said. \u201cWitnessing the huge amount of people in our communities that headed to the San Diego Food Bank during the pandemic, was shocking. Food being the sole human fuel besides water, was a no-brainer for us to help our local Food Bank to get more of it. This is going to help our students in communities to stay well and have the energy needed to get through their activities. This is going to help parents and aid fulfill at least some of their food responsibilities. This is going to allow mothers who are breastfeeding to be able to continue to do that. This is going to allow the next generation to survive and grow, and lead the next generation&#8217;s world.
