Students shown are Kyrian Bhowmik, Kiyoka Burke, William Driscoll, Jaxon Dunsford, Addison Estrella,\u00a0Waverley Hagler, Ya-Ling Haltigan, Janesita Jinatongthai, Brendan Lee, Stella McInerney, Jayden Park, David Pena, Juliet Trucci, Vanessa Rios, Kaitlyn Weeks, Mikayla Weinstein, Violet Westwood, Landon Yoffe, Erin Zollman, and India Zubiller.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Three of Donohoe\u2019s students were impressed by the King Tut exhibit and all it had to offer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI enjoyed the experience, it was really fun and I learned a bunch of new stuff,\u201d said Andrew Bischoff, who added the exhibit was different than what he had anticipated. \u201cI expected it to be one room with a bunch of stuff,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was completely different: We walked through this whole area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was really inclusive,\u201d said Damian Urias. \u201cThey presented it very well and it really showed you the life of King Tut. It was easy to understand and was explained smoothly. They had a lot of items, more than I expected, like canes and tools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought it was really cool,\u201d said Delaney Booth, noting she was surprised by what she experienced. \u201cYou walked through curtains and there were big screens all around you,\u201d she pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>Donohoe said the tour complemented her teaching plan. \u201cI thought it was a great extension to what we had learned,\u201d she noted. \u201cThey learned a lot about what life was like for the ancient Egyptians by actually seeing a lot of these different artifacts that were found in King Tut\u2019s Tomb.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Of their study of ancient cultures, Donohoe said: \u201cIt\u2019s important to understand the background of different cultures around the world in order to understand what the world is like today since we live in a global society. It opens up the world to them and makes them understand how the world works and why people behave in different ways. (From left) Andrew Bischoff, Donohoe, Damian Urias, and Delaney Booth talked about their experience.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWhen [archaeologists] found King Tut\u2019s Tomb it was nice to find something intact and to learn so much about their civilization,\u201d said Donohoe, noting it isn\u2019t often her students get to go on a field trip. \u201cIt was a great opportunity for them to see something outside of the classroom,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n<p>For the remainder of the run (through May 7), Beyond King Tut is welcoming sixth-grade students in San Diego to the exhibition free of charge when visiting with an adult with paid admission.
