The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints congregations throughout San Diego County are teaming up with the Boy Scouts of America San Diego-Imperial Council\u2019s Scouting for Food campaign and local business partners to collect nonperishable food donations for the San Diego Food Bank and the North County Food Bank chapter.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The San Diego Food Bank feeds an average of 400,000 per month through its network of 500 nonprofit partners, 200 direct food distributions, and 35 Super Pantries which are high-volume distribution hubs open throughout the week. Of San Diego County\u2019s 3.3 million residents*, nearly 1.1 million people face nutrition insecurity.** Of this number, 284,500 are children.** Nutrition insecurity means that little or no safe and nutritious food is available at home.
