With the big game and Valentine\u2019s Day rapidly approaching on Feb. 12 and Feb. 14, respectively, there is no shortage of activities in Point Loma to celebrate during an extra-long, mid-winter \"\"sports and romantic weekend.<\/p>\n

Here are just a few places to be, and things to do, while celebrating the big game \u2013 or big date.<\/p>\n

BIG GAME<\/span><\/p>\n

Harbor Town Pub<\/b> Super Bowl Party Card \u2013 This laid-back bar and community hub at 1125 Rosecrans St. featuring many craft beers on tap, burgers, and tacos is offering a special Superbowl Card for only $25. The special includes three draft beers, select calls, wines or canned beer, plus six raffle tickets for prizes during Super Bowl Sunday.<\/p>\n

Big Game Watch Party<\/b> \u2013 Goodbar at 1872 Rosecrans St. offers trivia, karaoke, live stand-up comedy, and special events like a St. Patrick\u2019s Day block party will be holding a watch party on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 12. Festivities start at noon with the game kicking off at 3:30 p.m. The event is being promoted as beer, burgers, best friends, and \"\"more. Yacht Party \u2013<\/b> Climb aboard Triton Charters\u2019 75-foot-long Catamaran to enjoy the game, booze, and beers, all while enjoying the views of San Diego Harbor from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at 2700 Shelter Island Drive. Tickets are $85 and include a three-hour Super Bowl watch party with multiple TVs at every angle, and snacks such as sliders, nachos, tacos; a fully stocked bar, prizes.<\/p>\n

VALENTINE\u2019S DAY<\/span><\/p>\n

Playhouse Musical Theatre<\/b> \u2013 The talented members of “Valentine’s Day Musical Theatre Workshop” will bring your favorite Broadway, pop, and Americana music to life on the Point Loma Playhouse stage, 3035 Talbot St. at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Led by award-winning music director Jordan Miller, your Valentine’s Day will be filled with sweet sounds, romantic tunes and heartfelt joy for all the lovers in the audience. All seats are $14.<\/p>\n

Tying The Knot<\/b> \u2013 The San Diego County assessor\/recorder\/county clerk is reminding love birds wanting to \u201ctie the knot\u201d or renew their wedding vows on Valentine\u2019s Day, Feb. 14 to make their appointment now for a marriage license and ceremony, as appointments are filling quickly. Downtown San Diego, Chula Vista, Santee, and San Marcos offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a marriage license and ceremony appointments. \u201cWalk-in\u201d services without an appointment will be offered for lovebirds living in the moment only at the historic Waterfront Park downtown office. Appointments for love can be made at sdarcc.gov<\/a>\u00a0or 619-237-0502. The cost of a non-confidential marriage license is $70.\u00a0If the couple would like their ceremony to be performed by County staff, the cost is an additional $88. Ceremonies are offered in English and Spanish.<\/p>\n

Ocean Beach Valentine\u2019s<\/b> \u2013 Celebrate this season of love the weekend before Valentine\u2019s Day on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Coastal Sage Gardening at 3685 Voltaire St. is spearheading the garden party hosted in the Sefton Gardens, 1890 Sefton Place. Once home to San Diego legend Joseph Sefton, these gardens are rich in history, and the goal is to start a community garden here where everyone can come work on the gardens, as well as reap the awesome rewards such as fresh vegetables and herbs.
