Once Patrick Henry High School students and staff get back on campus Tuesday, Jan. 3, expect a busy month of activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Academic Labs open from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the PHHS Library (Tuesdays\/Wednesdays\/Thursdays \u2013 each week).<\/span><\/p>\n

COVID-19 <\/b>t<\/b>ests <\/b>D<\/b>istributed<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

COVID tests were recently distributed to every student. <\/span><\/p>\n

In each box, there are two COVID tests. COVID-19 cases are on the rise in the area, with San Diego County recently entering the medium COVID-19 community level. <\/span><\/p>\n

Other illnesses such as the influenza virus (flu), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and the common cold also remain highly prevalent and easily transmissible. Practicing good health hygiene habits \u2013 washing hands, staying home when sick, and considering wearing a mask indoors and in crowded areas \u2013 can help prevent the spread of illness and is especially important during this time when many will be traveling or gathering with family and friends.<\/span><\/p>\n

The California Department of Public Health now recommends self-testing for COVID-19 the day before coming back to school and two or three days after returning. PHHS encourages students and staff to test on Monday, Jan. 2 and again on either Wednesday, Jan 4 or Thursday, Jan 5.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do not send your child to school if they are feeling sick or experiencing symptoms of any cold-like virus, until those symptoms start to improve and there is no fever for 24 hours (without use of fever-reducing medication). Keeping your sick child home will be a great benefit for the health and wellness of students and staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

Student password reset information\/update<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

SDUSD IT Department will be performing student password resets starting on Jan. 5 for 2-3 school clusters per day. The Henry Cluster reset day has not been determined yet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Academic labs<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The academic labs is space where students can get extra support from teachers and peer tutors with math and writing. PHHS can help with homework, classwork, test prep, test corrections, and essay drafting, revisions, and editing. Students should bring work to do in the labs. Some students even come every day and form study groups. <\/span><\/p>\n

Please encourage your students to attend. The school will be hosting the labs<\/span><\/p>\n

on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the library each week.<\/span><\/p>\n
