The La Mesa Police Department will be hosting a Guns For Gift Cards on Saturday, Dec. 3, 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the municipal lot at the Civic Center Complex located at 4825 Date Avenue in La Mesa. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In partnership with the San Diego Sheriff\u2019s Department, El Cajon Police Department, and San Diego District Attorney\u2019s Office, this effort seeks to get unwanted guns off the streets to keep the community safe. Individuals can remain anonymous and receive a $100 gift card for a handgun, rifle, or shotgun no questions asked. During the last Guns For Gift Cards event in 2021, a total of 293 unwanted firearms were exchanged for gift cards.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
