Point Loma Blvd. in Midway.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Its Louisiana-style menu features a plethora of seafood and other delights including: Blue, Stone, King, Snow and Dungeness crab, lobster tail, scallops, calamari, oysters, shrimp, crawfish, catfish, green and black mussels, clams, clam chowder and shrimp cocktail.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">On the origin of King Crab, co-owner Jenny Ipek, also a real estate broker who is from a family of restaurateurs, noted she and her husband, Engin, both \u201clove food.\u201d She added they \u201cwent everywhere on vacation\u201d looking for just the right place to fulfill their dream of one day owning a restaurant. \u201cWe went to Louisiana more than 10 years ago and loved their culture, gumbo, all the seasonings \u2013 everything,\u201d she said adding they thought, \u201cWow, this is so awesome. We don\u2019t have any similar restaurants in San Diego. So we took this (Midway) location as our first in San Diego.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ipek noted she and Engin had been eyeing the former Soup Plantation\u2019s large and open buffet space, which could accommodate all of their needs including providing room for wedding and birthday parties, wedding showers and group meetings. (Photo courtesy King Crab)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"left\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For us, we have a huge parking space,\u201d noted\u00a0Ipek, adding they are also happy to\u00a0serve\u00a0patrons attending sporting events, like San Diego Gulls hockey at the nearby Sports Arena.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is something we can do for the community\u00a0to\u00a0support each other,\u201d\u00a0pointed out Ipek,\u00a0who added\u00a0they\u2019ve gotten a positive response from clientele on their food offerings. \u201cEverything looks so yummy to them,\u201d she said about their guests\u00a0trying\u00a0new seafoods, or Louisiana staples like Po-Boy sandwiches. \u201cThey say, \u2018I\u2019ve never had this before. I\u2019m so glad you guys are here.
