On Saturday, Oct. 8, the La Mesa-El Cajon Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will sponsor a representative from the League of Women Voters to discuss what is available through the League, voter\u2019s rights, and answer questions from the membership. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting will be held in King Hall at Foothills United Methodist Church, 4031 Avocado Blvd., La Mesa beginning at 10 a.m. There is a social time starting at 9:30 a.m. The meeting is free and open to the public.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Presented by the branch\u2019s public policy committee, chaired by Charlotte Gunderson and Vicki Reed, the membership will hear about any changes in procedures and what to expect on Election Day, Nov. 8.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the League\u2019s website, \u201cThe League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy. We empower voters and defend democracy through advocacy, education, and litigation, at the local, state, and national levels.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

La Mesa-El Cajon Branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW) has been engaged in \u201cequity for all\u201d efforts since the 1950\u2019s and is one of the largest branches in the state. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
