San Diego Police Department Officer Terry Hoskins, who often attends El Cerrito Community Council (ECCC) community meetings to report on police activities, is informing residents about a way to contact Development Services\/Code Enforcement directly to request an investigation for a code violation near their home or business.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Get-It-Done APP is a tool that has streamlined reporting issues for many services that the city provides. However, you can also contact Development Services\/Code Enforcement directly to request an investigation for a code or development violation near your home or business.<\/p>\n

At the end of this message is a link to a document that explains how you can submit or request an investigation that goes straight to Development Services\/Code Enforcement. The advantage of submitting such a request is that you can check the status of an investigation extremely easily and request to speak with someone. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, depending upon the priority of the request, you will be able to see a timeline that lets you know when you can expect to have a staff member assigned to your case. Hoskins and ECCC hope this direct method will assist the community in reporting code and development violations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Hoskins also wants to let residents know that they should feel free to include him when they make a request for an investigation or let him know the address and subject of the violation.<\/p>\n

He has a regular meeting with the Deputy City Attorney, Nuisance Abatement Unit, where they discuss every code enforcement case in the community. Typically, this relationship works really well as they are strong advocates – and characteristically successful – for the person making the request.
