El Consejo Comunitario del \u00c1rea Universitaria tiene una nueva junta directiva de 12 miembros y una misi\u00f3n revitalizada, luego de una ruptura amistosa con la Junta de Planificaci\u00f3n Comunitaria del \u00c1rea Universitaria. Los dos grupos operaron en conjunto durante muchos a\u00f1os, con el mismo conjunto de 20 miembros de la junta.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

El cambio, realizado en febrero, une al CACC con la Coalici\u00f3n Comunitaria del \u00c1rea Universitaria, una corporaci\u00f3n de beneficio p\u00fablico de California sin fines de lucro.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Como se establece en sus estatutos, la misi\u00f3n de la organizaci\u00f3n combinada ser\u00e1 realizar actividades ben\u00e9ficas y educativas para preservar y mejorar las cualidades f\u00edsicas del \u00c1rea Universitaria y ofrecer actividades que fomenten la inclusi\u00f3n diversa y construyan conexiones sociales.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

La nueva junta de CACC est\u00e1 compuesta por tres representantes de At-Large y seis Vecindarios y un tr\u00edo de puestos que ser\u00e1n ocupados por representantes del College Area Business District, los Estudiantes Asociados de la Universidad Estatal de San Diego y la administraci\u00f3n de SDSU.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Los nuevos directores del CACC, por categor\u00eda, son:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

* At Large: Vanessa Dangerfield, Julie Hamilton y Eva Yakutis.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

* Vecindarios: Karen Austin, Alvarado Estates; Kristian Kuh, Ca\u00f1\u00f3n de Baja California; Jean Hoeger, estado de College View; BJ Nystrom, El Cerrito; Troy Murphree, Colonia Mesa; y Jim Jennings, El Tri\u00e1ngulo.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

* Distrito comercial: Jim Schneider<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

* Estudiantes asociados: TBA<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

* Administraci\u00f3n de SDSU: Rachel Gregg, quien ocupa un puesto en la junta sin derecho a voto.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

La junta celebr\u00f3 su primera reuni\u00f3n el 1 de marzo y seleccion\u00f3 a Jennings como presidente; Yakutis como vicepresidente; Hamilton, como secretario; y Schneider como tesorero.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

El grupo planea reunirse el primer martes de cada mes a las 5:30 pm en la Oficina Comercial del \u00c1rea Universitaria, 4704 College Avenue.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

El CACC es una organizaci\u00f3n de membres\u00eda abierta a todos los residentes, empresas y organizaciones sin fines de lucro en el \u00e1rea universitaria. Los miembros actuales del antiguo CACC se consideran miembros de la nueva organizaci\u00f3n. Los nuevos miembros son bienvenidos. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
