SAN DIEGO \u2013 World Trade Center San Diego (WTCSD) will present its annual 2011 International Business Leadership Awards during a ceremony on Jan. 11 at Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center on the campus of San Diego State University. The awards will recognize San Diego companies, people and technologies that embody the best of the international trade community and outstanding achievement in exports and imports. The ceremony will feature Dr. Maynard Howe, CEO of Stemedica, as the keynote speaker. Registration and networking begin at 4 p.m. at the center, located at 5500 Campanile Dr. The awards ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. Howe will speak on Stemedica\u2019s strategic path to international growth. A reception follows the ceremony. Belle Heule, president and CEO of WTCSD, said judging has become more difficult each year because of the achievements of local companies in growing their international businesses and the creative ways institutions and organizations are supporting the growth. Companies will be recognized from three categories: Importer of the Year, Exporter of the Year and Service Provider of the Year.
