We would like to commend Peninsula Community Planning Board (PCPB) member Nancy Graham and the other PCPB members who voted for an investigation into [resigned] Chairman Suhail Khalil\u2019s actions with regard to the group\u2019s by- laws. Upholding the integrity of the PCPB is of the utmost importance.\u00a0 Was it ignorance by design or indifference by intent that Mr. Khalil ignored the by-laws, despite serving on this board for more than five years? It should be noted that Mr. Khalil was not forced to resign. He chose to resign. His penalty for this [alleged] violation would only have been a slap on the wrist. The last person the community needs is an autocratic, elitist chairperson. As community members, we expect all the board members to work under the same approved rules, if you don\u2019t like the rules, work to change them \u2014 do not break them. With a view to avoiding a recurrance of this episode, we would like to offer a couple of recomendations: \u2022 Have all board members sign that they have read and understood the PCPB\u2019s by-laws. \u2022 Letters that have not been approved by the full board should not be posted on the public PCPB website.
