A pair of area girls soccer teams head into the CIF playoffs on winning notes. The Bishop\u2019s School Lady Knights (20-2-1) under head coach Brian Quinn just captured their fourth consecutive Coastal League title, going 8-0-0 in league play. Bishop\u2019s has been unbeaten in the league over the last four years. Bishop\u2019s recently tallied a 4-0 win over Canyon Crest Academy and a 3-2 victory over Francis Parker. Players who played well last week were Francis Harvey (goal and assist versus CCA and the winning goal versus Parker), Laura Aguilar (started the comeback against Parker), Morgan Hicks and Megan Hastings, who both scored in the games. “The season has been remarkable in respect to how the kids have won so many games, are ranked so high and have played a very demanding schedule,” Quinn said. “I feel they deserve all the accolades that are coming their way because they have played with an amazing collectiveness all year long and with great humility in their approach versus every team they have played.” At La Jolla Country Day School, the Lady Torreys under head coach Dave Jenkins rolled to a recent 9-0 win over Mountain Empire. Freshman Miquela Fiori got to work quickly scoring the team\u2019s first three goals. Aleena Young added a fourth on a penalty kick and was followed by a goal by freshman Alana Pockros. Enjoying, for a change, a less physical and high tempo game than the two previous matches against Bishop\u2019s and Parker, the Lady Torreys added another four goals in the second half.
