The past few weeks for me have been a little hectic, to say the least, with the theft of my [musical] instruments and then having to play shows with borrowed equipment. \u00a0 In this tough time, however, I\u2019ve been really touched by the amount of kindness I\u2019ve received from my fellow Ocean Beach\/Point Loma residents \u2014 even complete strangers. \u00a0 I\u2019d just like to thank the Peninsula Beacon for bringing to the public\u2019s attention what happened regarding the theft of instruments. It means the world to me that someone cares enough to put this in the light for others to know about. As a result, I\u2019ve experienced a humbling amount of goodwill and compassion from friends, family and community members alike. I want to thank Hack Pickett, a friend of my piano teacher, Dell Schroeder. Mr. Pickett was told by Mrs. Schroeder of the theft and immediately contacted me, then gave me a 1996 American Fender Stratocaster (my dream guitar) as a gift. Playing that guitar every day is literally a dream come true, and I\u2019m going to make sure this one remains in my possession for life. I\u2019d also like to give all my gratitude and respect to Richard Irby, our bass player Seth\u2019s father, who not only let me borrow pedals and always is there to help with my bands, but is currently lending me a Gibson Les Paul studio in place of my lost Epiphone Casino. \u00a0 They say horrible things can turn into beautiful things, and in this case that\u2019s definitely true.
