Editor: On behalf of San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, I want to thank the many residents who attended the Federal Aviation Administration\u2019s (FAA) presentations about the SoCal Metroplex and\/or took the time to submit comments on the FAA\u2019s Environmental Assessment (EA). We understand that the Point Loma community has some concerns about the FAA\u2019s proposed changes to the fight paths from San Diego International Airport. And, quite frankly, we do, too. During the formal public comment period for the EA, the Authority asked the FAA to retain the waypoint located approximately 1.5 miles southwest of the tip of Point Loma, known as LOWMA, to ensure the noise abatement procedures can be maintained to limit aircraft flying over the Point Loma community. Our goals are to ensure that San Diego International Airport operates safely and efficiently, serves the region\u2019s air transportation needs \u2013 and is a trusted and highly responsive community partner. For more than 12 years, the Airport Authority has been listening to input, including our neighbors\u2019 concerns, and endeavoring to keep you informed about things happening at the airport that potentially impact Point Loma.
