\nThe postal service now plans to sell the La Jolla Post Office and undertake marketing that would “allow for a potential sale\/lease back.”
\nIn excerpts from its final determination letter, in response to concerns raised by opponents of the La Jolla Post Office\u2019s sale, the USPS said, “We appreciate heartfelt attachment to the La Jolla Post Office building. \u2026 Our financial circumstances force us to pursue every opportunity to reduce costs and generate revenues. \u2026 The postal service will only consider relocation sites that are suitable for our customers and meet all postal operation needs. \u2026 Until we have a proposal to relocate to one or more specific alternative sites, we cannot meaningfully evaluate the effects of the relocation. \u2026 At such time as the postal service markets the post office building, we will consider all reasonable proposals for acquiring the building. \u2026 If we relocate the La Jolla Post Office to another site we will not terminate the La Jolla Post Office employees, but transfer them to the new site.”<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
