An update on Phase 2 of the North Ocean Beach Gateway improvement project will be among items discussed at the next Ocean Beach Community Development Corporation (OBCDC) meeting Thursday, May 8 at 7 p.m. at the Ocean Beach Recreation Center, 4726 Santa Monica St.
\nThe gateway project has suffered from time \u2014 and cost \u2014 delays involved with problems associated with securing a contractor in the competitive bid process.
\nPhase 2 of the project, at an estimated cost of $498,000, is for an ADA-accessible decorative walkway in pocket Entryway Park at Sunset Cliffs and West Point Loma boulevards.
\nMark Nassar, the city\u2019s public works director, in a recent email said Sea Pac Engineering, an L.A.-based firm with San Diego experience on naval and Camp Pendleton projects, is being considered as contractor for the job.
\nThe construction job is expected to take 45 working days to complete, sometime in late June, from the date of the contract award.
