Throughout the week until Dec. 14, volunteer lifeguards will decorate their lifeguard tower with twinkling lights, which can be donated by members of the community at Meanley &amp; Son Ace Hardware, located at 7756 Girard Ave., or at the lifeguard tower itself, located on Coast Boulevard across from Casa de Manana. <br \/>The public is invited to the festive lighting ceremony, which will include carolers, coffee, cocoa and snacks on Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. The free community event will take place at Shell Beach just above the lifeguard tower. <br \/>Lifeguards are also collecting toys for Toys for Tots and are asking guests to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the cause. Toys can be donated at the lighting ceremony or at any lifeguard tower along San Diego&#8217;s coastline.
