The drive continues through Monday, Feb. 23 at the school\u2019s office. &#8220;A sixth-grader knew of the organization in Tijuana and wanted to help the organization,&#8221; KKC parent helper Amanda Friedman said. &#8220;It seemed like a really good idea.&#8221; Friedman said the club \u2014 now in its third year \u2014 includes about 10 volunteers. At the beginning of each year, club members choose different organizations to focus on throughout the months, she said. &#8220;That\u2019s what it was this month,&#8221; Friedman said. &#8220;Sometimes we serve food at homeless shelters.&#8221; The organization is collecting winter coats and new or gently used toys for children ages 2 to 15 at the Torrey Pines Elementary School office through Feb. 23.
