The festival, in partnership with the Nickelodeon \u00adchildren\u2019s television network, \u00adprepares applicants for sub\u00admissions of their work to the Nickelodeon Writing Fellowship. Platt students frequently attend Downtown cultural events as inspiration for their graphic design, \u00adwriting and \u00adfilmmaking. Franek\u2019s script, &#8220;Puppy Love,&#8221; is inspired by the NBC comedy &#8220;The Office,&#8221; in which Michael proclaims his love on Valentine\u2019s Day with the perfect gift\u2013a puppy. Manuel\u2019s entry is designed as a 30-minute episode of the &#8220;Hannah Montana&#8221; series.
