Donate Life San Diego will host a public forum at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at La Jolla United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 6063 La Jolla Blvd. The free event will feature a talk by Sharon Ross, Donate Life’s executive director, in recognition of April as National Donate Month. More than 2,200 are on local organ waiting lists, with 90 dying last year.
\nDonate Life (the new national name) is also known locally as Lifesharing and was founded in 1984 as a division of UCSD Medical Center. It is one of 58 regional non-profits dedicated to the life-saving and life-enhancing benefits of organ and tissue donation.
