If the child has never registered in the league, a copy of the player&#8217;s birth certificate is necessary.<br \/>Team manager, coach, team mom and scorekeeper volunteers are needed, as well as team sponsors to provide funding for field maintenance and league operation.<\/p>\n<p>La Jolla stickers win; Bishop&#8217;s falls<br \/>La Jolla High&#8217;s field hockey team scored a 1-0 win over Valley Center last Saturday in the Division II first-round playoffs. Maddy Sharpe had the winning goal for La Jolla, with AJ Thota recording the shutout.<br \/>With the win, the Lady Vikings advanced to the quarterfinals this past Tuesday, Nov. 14, where they were beaten by Serra, 4-1, to end their season.<br \/>Bishop&#8217;s School, meantime, dropped a 2-1 decision to Hilltop. Lia Sagerman had Bishop&#8217;s lone goal.<br \/>University City&#8217;s Lady Centurions had a bye in the first round. UC met Hilltop in Tuesday&#8217;s round of play, and won 4-0. The Lady Centurions will meet Westview in the Nov. 16 semifinal, with the winner gpoing on to the Nov. 18 final at Scripps Ranch High School.<\/p>\n<p>Spikers dig for CIF victories<br \/>Several local scholastic girls volleyball teams netted victories last week as the CIF playoffs kicked off.<br \/>In the Division III quarters, La Jolla High topped Valley Center by scores of 25-16, 25-18, 25-16.<br \/>The Lady Vikings were led by the efforts of Cameron Smith, Karly Deer, Amanda Gordon and Dana Hoolko.<br \/>In the Nov. 14 semifinals, La Jolla was feated by San Dieguito, 25-14, 20-25, 25-17, 25-22, to end their season.<br \/>In Division IV action, The Bishop&#8217;s School rolled to a 25-18, 25-14, 25-14 win over Coronado. The second-seeded Lady Knights had a bye in the first round.<br \/>In the win over Coronado, Bishop&#8217;s was led by Nicole Ballon-Landa (11 kills), Katherine Fiedler (nine kills) and Natalia Wrobel (36 assists). In addition, outside hitters Jacqueline Rhodes and Carly Bollert had excellent matches.<br \/>Bishop&#8217;s played this past Tuesday night, Nov. 14, in the semifinals versus third-seeded Santa Fe Christian. The Lady Knights were narrowly defeated by SFC, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23, 26-24. SFC moves on to the championship on Nov. 18 and is guaranteed a spot in the States.<br \/>In other Division IV play, La Jolla Country Day (LJCD) School was eliminated by Santa Fe Christian by scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-15.<br \/>LJCD (13-21) defeated Palo Verde in the first round, 3-0.
