Dominique Sardo chipped in with four assists and two goals, while sophomore Katy Feaver added two goals and Sarah Presant scored one.<br \/>In a contest versus Orange County&#8217;s Fountain Valley, Bishop&#8217;s prevailed 10-4. Sardo (three goals), Alexander (two goals) and Stephanie Tecca (five assists) led the way.<br \/>Bishop&#8217;s added a 14-5 win over Bonita Vista, with Alexander notching six goals. Presant and Sammi Peck each added three goals, while Cathy White dished out four assists.<br \/>In Saturday&#8217;s final day of play, Bishop&#8217;s won three matches to capture the team crown.<br \/>The Lady Knights scored a 14-5 win over University City (Sardo five goals), a 16-3 triumph over Valley Center (Sardo five goals, Lexi Bohlmeijer two goals, Kirsten Siegel one goal) and a 10-9 double OT win over Fountain Valley in the title game (Alexander and Sardo three goals each).<br \/>Alexander and Sardo were named co-tournament MVPs, with goalie Julia Eichenfield also named to the All-Tournament Team.<br \/>Bishop&#8217;s went 1-1 in league play last week.<br \/>Bishop&#8217;s topped La Jolla 6-4 on Jan. 28 behind Alexander&#8217;s three goals, four ejections and two steals. Presant added two goals with Tecca scoring the other goal.<br \/>On Jan. 30, Bishop&#8217;s dropped a 9-2 decision to rival Coronado.<\/p>\n<p>La Jolla JV cagers see action<br \/>The La Jolla High junior varsity girls basketball team went 1-1 last week to put their season mark at 8-9 overall and 4-5 in league play.<br \/>The Lady Vikings fell to Scripps Ranch 45-23 in their first game of the week. Lilly Sedaghat led La Jolla with nine points, while Maria Olea had four points and nine rebounds in the losing effort.<br \/>&#8220;We didn&#8217;t play poorly today &#8221; we just didn&#8217;t shoot very well and Scripps Ranch did,&#8221; La Jolla High head coach Gary Frank said. &#8220;It was just one of those days where the ball didn&#8217;t bounce our way.&#8221;<br \/>La Jolla came back strong in its second game of the week, topping University City 37-22. Onezia Berotte led the way with 11 points, including a team record 8-for-8 at the free throw line. Anna Parma and Sedaghat chipped in with eight points each.<br \/>&#8220;This was definitely our best game of the year,&#8221; Frank noted. &#8220;It all started with our defense; the girls did a great job of shutting down UC&#8217;s offense. It was an outstanding team effort by all of the girls. We are definitely beginning to peak at the right point of the season&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Beach tennis showcased<br \/>The fast-growing sport of beach tennis will be showcased Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9-10, at Barnes Tennis Center in Point Loma.<br \/>The event will include a clinic, a professional exhibition match and a &#8220;free-play&#8221; day.
