{"id":296169,"date":"2017-06-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-06-16T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdnews.com\/ljvmatalks-website-updates-social-media-presence\/"},"modified":"2017-06-16T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-06-16T07:00:00","slug":"ljvmatalks-website-updates-social-media-presence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/ljvmatalks-website-updates-social-media-presence\/","title":{"rendered":"LJVMA? habla sobre las actualizaciones del sitio web, la presencia en las redes sociales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In June, La Jolla Village Merchants Association discussed the need to improve the group&#8217;s social media networking.<br \/>\nIn his president&#8217;s report, James Niebling noted LJVMA&#8217;s new updated website will be online likely in the next six weeks. &#8220;It will be really strong, modern and progressive and focus on the La Jolla lifestyle,&#8221; he said.<br \/>\nRegarding the use of social media marketing, Niebling noted, &#8220;I know it&#8217;s a challenging task&#8221; adding LJVMA &#8220;needs more consistency and presence out there.&#8221;<br \/>\nIt was suggested that the board could hire an outside interest to handle its social media.<br \/>\n&#8220;I&#8217;d like to caution you that we&#8217;re not a million-dollar account, so we&#8217;d be in the puppy mill,&#8221; said CA Marengo, immediate past LJVMA president adding that &#8220;they put you in a pile of things to do.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;What we need is more hands on deck, that&#8217;s what it&#8217;s all about,&#8221; said Niebling. &#8220;I&#8217;ll be part of that, and we need more people to step up and be part of ramping up social media.&#8221;<br \/>\nTresha Souza asked for, and received, a letter of support from LJVMA for its annual fall fundraising block party called &#8220;So Fine on Kline.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;The event will be held Nov. 12 on Veterans Day weekend and will include a chili cookoff being done by Eddie V&#8217;s, bands, a beer garden, a dog costume parade and a beer garden,&#8221; said Souza. &#8220;We won&#8217;t have a horse and carriage this year. It will be the same footprint (as in the past).&#8221;<br \/>\nThe group voted unanimously to support So Fine on Kline.<br \/>\nEn otra acci\u00f3n:<br \/>\n\u2022 Andy White from The Ascot Shop was appointed by the group to fill a board vacancy and took his seat during the meeting.<br \/>\n\u2022 Following a brief presentation by LJVMA&#8217;s executive director Sheila Fortune, the merchant group opted in favor of hosting a far less costly in-person election this fall, rather than conducting a much more expensive ballot mailed to group members. &#8220;We got back 67 of 1,300 ballots we mailed out last year, that&#8217;s a cost of about $50 a vote,&#8221; Fortune said noting, &#8220;That&#8217;s pretty ridiculous,&#8221; Fortune suggested the in-person vote the group approved to be a half- or full day rather than just a couple of hours during the group&#8217;s meeting when the election is held to optimize voter turnout.<br \/>\n\u2022 The group announced that its fourth annual La Jolla Day at Petco Park will be Sunday, July 30 starting at 1:40 p.m. against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
