{"id":294124,"date":"2014-08-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-08-20T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdnews.com\/pb-town-councils-gala-wine-beer-tasting-on-tap-for-aug-24\/"},"modified":"2014-08-20T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2014-08-20T07:00:00","slug":"pb-town-councils-gala-wine-beer-tasting-on-tap-for-aug-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/pb-town-councils-gala-wine-beer-tasting-on-tap-for-aug-24\/","title":{"rendered":"PB Town Council\u2019s gala wine, beer tasting on tap for Aug. 24"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EVENT SERVES AS CRITICAL FUNDRAISER FOR LOCAL SCHOOLS The 13th annual Pacific Beach Town Council (PBTC) wine and beer tasting and silent auction to benefit local schools is set to welcome residents and neighbors Sunday, Aug. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Table 926, located at 926 Turquoise St.<br \/>\n&#8220;It\u2019s the largest fundraiser of the year for PBTC, and it benefits our community,&#8221; said the group\u2019s current president, Alan Harris. &#8220;We\u2019ll have a silent auction that a lot of local businesses donate to.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe event is being held in the parking lot of Table 926.<br \/>\n&#8220;We close off the area and set up tables and umbrellas, and we\u2019ll have a buffet,&#8221; said Harris, noting the restaurant, which sponsors this year\u2019s event, is one of the Town Council\u2019s and the community\u2019s biggest benefactors.<br \/>\nThe PBTC president said schools will be on the receiving end of wine and beer-tasting proceeds, as will other deserving community-service projects.<br \/>\n&#8220;The money from the event supports neighborhood cleanups, the Graffiti Cleanup Day we have once a year, the PB holiday parade and concerts,&#8221; Harris said. &#8220;We also make grants to local schools.
