To celebrate the Portuguese cultural history, the\u00a0Peninsula Chamber of Commerce will be holding the 29th\u00a0annual\u00a0Taste\u00a0of\u00a0Point\u00a0Loma Wednesday April 11, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. The event will offer locals and visitors alike exclusive samples of fresh seafood, decadent desserts, and a variety of ethnic cuisine from local restaurants, cafes and bakeries.
\nReturning to this year\u2019s event is the celebration of\u00a0Point\u00a0Loma\u2019s Portuguese Heritage with the United Portuguese S.E.S. Inc. (U.P.S.E.S. Inc.). who will be providing samples of traditional Portuguese dishes along with entertainment throughout the evening. “We are excited to celebrate and bring awareness to the rich Portuguese heritage in\u00a0Point\u00a0Loma,” said president of the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, Matt Kalla. “United Portuguese S.E.S. Inc. does a great job at giving the community a glimpse into their traditional cuisine, customs and activities.”
\nParticipating restaurants include Blue Wave Bar & Grill, Brigantine Seafood & Oyster Bar, Charles & Dinorah at The Pearl, Jimmy\u2019s Famous American Tavern, Living Room Caf\u00e9, Miguel\u2019s Cocina, Mitch\u2019s Seafood, Old Venice Restaurant,\u00a0Point\u00a0Break Caf\u00e9,\u00a0Point\u00a0Loma Fish Shop, Pomodoro Ristorante Italiano, Pummaro, Shanghai Bun Restaurant, Sushi Lounge, The Elegant Truffle and The Wine Pub. Recommended beverage pairings are available for purchase. Shuttle services will also be provided throughout the night.
\nTickets can be purchased online and at The Wine Pub, or Matt Kalla\u2019s State Farm office at\u00a04148 Voltaire St. Discounts are offered to students, military and anyone traveling by bike. Event check in for online ticket purchasers will be at United Portuguese S.E.S. Inc., at\u00a02818 Avenida de Portugal. Attendees who purchase tickets at The Wine Pub or Matt Kalla\u2019s office can start at any of the participating restaurants identified on the ticket.
