In anticipation of large crowds visiting the coastline, City park rangers and beach lifeguards are asking beachgoers to follow posted regulations and use common sense to make the day safe and enjoyable for everyone. Some important reminders include:<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Parking:\u00a0Arrive early as public parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Saving parking spots is not allowed. Consider taking\u00a0public transportation\u00a0or ride-share options. Do not park in a red zone or on the grass or sand. Most parking lots are closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Pets:\u00a0Dogs are not allowed on the beach, even on a leash, unless it is a designated dog beach. To find dog beaches and dog park locations, visit\u00a0www.sandiego.gov\/park-and-recreation\/parks\/dogs.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Fires:\u00a0Bonfires are only permitted within self-contained fire pits. Only clean wood can be burned; pallets, stained or painted wood, tree limbs with greenery or wood with nails are strictly prohibited.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Trash:\u00a0Please clean up after yourself. Use provided trash cans and recycling containers to dispose of items. To help keep our parks clean, a Leave No Trace rule is recommended and the public is encouraged to remove the trash it generates and properly dispose of it at home.\u00a0<br \/>\nGlass containers, alcohol and smoking are not allowed on City of San Diego beaches or around Mission Bay. Lifeguards with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department also remind visitors to watch children closely and swim near a lifeguard.\u00a0<br \/>\nThe City of San Diego has 17 miles of coastline and 4,600 acres around Mission Bay Park.
