San Diego Mesa College will hold their\u00a038th annual Golden Scissors Awards and Fashion Show\u00a0at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina on Friday, May 3. This year\u2019s theme is Forces of Fashion, which features designs and clothing created by Mesa Fashion Design students.\u00a0
\nThe event, produced by fashion promotion students, attracts crowds of approximately 700 fashion-minded community members each year. This year, Mesa is once again partnering with students from the cosmetology department at San Diego City College who lend their talents to complete the vision of these innovative and exciting student designs. Entertainment will be provided by music and dance students to create a show you do not want to miss.
\nThe purpose of Golden Scissors is to showcase the work of the students in the fashion program at Mesa. The show also helps students in the Fashion Department gain the experience needed for their own future careers in the fashion industry.\u00a0\u00a0
\nStarting at 5:30 p.m., guests can check in and enjoy a silent auction where they can bid on items that were donated from local businesses. VIP guests will be part of a special reception and have preferred seating for the show. All proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction go towards scholarships for Fashion students.
\nTicket prices are $60 for VIP, $25 for general admission (in advance), $20 for students (in advance), and $30 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased at Mesa College in the Business Technology Building, Rooms 115 and 118 or online through\u00a0San Diego Mesa Foundation.
