POINT LOMA \u2014 Dressing for success apparently can apply to armed bank robbers. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and San Diego police are asking for the public\u2019s help in identifying a well-dressed bank robber who struck the US Bank branch at 2150 Chatsworth Blvd. in Point Loma on Monday morning. The unknown male, dubbed by investigators as the “Dapper Bandit,” entered the bank around 9:40 a.m., approached a teller and produced a black semi-automatic handgun as he verbally demanded cash, according to FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth. Wearing a black golf hat, dark gray or black sports jacket, a black high-collared shirt and dark-colored pants, the unidentified robber took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank, Foxworth said. The suspect is described as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a medium build weighing about 200 pounds, bald with a goatee. Foxworth said the suspect is also described as sporting as tattoo on right side of neck, possibly in cursive writing. The so-called “Dapper Bandit” is also believed to have robbed a Rabobank branch in Tulare on Dec. 7 and a Bank of America branch in Fresno on Nov. 17. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI at (858) 565-1255, the San Diego Police Department\u2019s Robbery Unit at (619) 531-2299 or CrimeStoppers at (888) 580-8477.
