This week, San Diego Mesa College announced the 2019 scholarship winners for the\u00a026th\u00a0annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony, where approximately $170,000 in scholarships will be awarded to 175 students. This year the ceremony will be a Saturday luncheon hosted by the\u00a0Mesa College Foundation,\u00a0which will take place at noon on Saturday, April 20 at the Doubletree Hotel in Mission Valley.
\n“Our generous donors \u2013 consisting of faculty, staff, alumni, community partners and even students themselves \u2013 continue to come forward to support the success of our students,” stated Mesa College president Pamela Luster.
\nAt the ceremony on Saturday, Mesa College will be awarding 96 scholarships to 175 students \u2013 76 of whom are receiving more than one award. The ceremony begins with a “donor meet and greet” and no-host social hour, continues with the recognition of donors and recipients, and concludes with dancing and socializing.
\nThis year, multiple sponsors have already signed up to assist with underwriting the event. Funding has been provided by donors such as the Mesa College Associated Students and Kaiser at the Olympian Gold level, California Coast Credit Union at the Olympian Bronze level, and\u00a0Elizabeth Armstrong, Chancellor Constance Carroll and Dr. Pamela Luster at the Olympian Torch Bearer level.
