{"id":292621,"date":"2018-02-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-02-23T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdnews.com\/developer-withdraws-bid-for-pacific-beach-reservoir-site\/"},"modified":"2018-02-23T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-02-23T08:00:00","slug":"developer-withdraws-bid-for-pacific-beach-reservoir-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/developer-withdraws-bid-for-pacific-beach-reservoir-site\/","title":{"rendered":"Developer withdraws bid for Pacific Beach reservoir site"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La Jolla-based real estate developer McKellar McGowan has withdrawn from redeveloping the 4.76-acre former Pacific Beach reservoir site on Los Altos Road into 20 single-family homes.<br \/>\n&#8220;A couple of weeks ago we decided we did not want to fight the resolute Los Altos Road neighbors for five years,&#8221; said Chris McKellar. &#8220;Apparently, the city has found another developer willing to give it a go.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;There are a number of parties interested in the property,&#8221; confirmed Arian Collins, the city\u2019s supervising public information officer.\u00a0&#8220;The City is currently in the negotiation process.&#8221;<br \/>\nMcKellar McGowan, negotiating with neighbors near the reservoir site, ran into stiff opposition.<br \/>\nSoledad Terrace neighbors complained of lack of transparency \u2014 and of being ignored \u2014 by the city, following the proposed sale of the former Pacific Beach reservoir site west of Kate Sessions Park to McKellar McGowan.\u00a0<br \/>\nThe property, with an appraised value of $8.8 million, had not yet been approved for sale by the City Council, city spokesman Jose Ysea said.\u00a0<br \/>\nPB reservoir, recently demolished, served as part of the city of San Diego\u2019s water system for about 80 years.
