{"id":292512,"date":"2013-05-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-05-24T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdnews.com\/people-in-the-news-26\/"},"modified":"2013-05-24T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2013-05-24T07:00:00","slug":"people-in-the-news-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/people-in-the-news-26\/","title":{"rendered":"gente en las noticias"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La Jolla resident <strong>Sabrina Martucci Johnson<\/strong> joined the board of Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest. serving a three-year term on the board.<br \/> &ldquo;Core to my belief system is universal access to health care, with an emphasis on affordable preventative and reproductive healthcare,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;Planned Parenthood is a critical provider of these services in our community &#8230; I want to do everything I can to ensure Planned Parenthood can continue to provide a full menu of reproductive health services to our community for generations to come.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p> The La Jolla Community Foundation (LJCF), an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, welcomed <strong>Julie Dubick<\/strong> y <strong>Lynn Gorguze<\/strong> to its board of directors.<br \/> Dubick served as former Mayor Jerry Sanders&#8217; chief of staff and was responsible for developing and implementing citywide policies, communication, state and federal relations and staff management. <br \/> Gorguze is president and CEO of Cameron Holdings Corporation, a business she co-founded in 1993 that focuses on acquiring and operating privately-held middle market manufacturing and service companies. <\/p>\n<p> <strong>Ardem Patapoutian<\/strong>, professor in The Scripps Research Institute&#8217;s (TSRI) Dorris Neuroscience Center was named a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Investigator, based on his demonstrated potential to contribute significantly to biomedical science. <br \/> &ldquo;I am immensely pleased for Ardem and what his selection says about him and TSRI,&rdquo; said Michael A.
