What goes better on a cold January morning than pancakes and hot coffee for breakfast?
\nPoint Loma High’s baseball team is getting a head start on funding its regular season that begins in early March by serving up just such a treat.
\nTeam boosters are hoping you’ll stop by the St. Agnes Church Hall, 1145 Evergreen St. on Jan. 7 to enjoy a stack of pancakes and socialize while helping the Pointers get ready for their 2017 season.
\nFood service begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m.
\nFor a $5 donation, each person will receive pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. There will also be a hot cocoa and doughnut bar for an additional charge. Tickets for the event can be purchased from PLHS baseball team members or at the door.
\nLater in January, Pointer boosters will stage the second annual PLHS Baseball Boosters golf tournament. This year’s event takes place Jan. 21 at the Loma Club, a nine-hole, par three course in Liberty Station.
\nFor a $75 entry fee, adult golfers can play a “glowball” round of golf and enjoy a dinner featuring fun games, a raffle and live music by local band “The Openers.” All proceeds go to the baseball program.
\nTee time is 5:45 p.m. Those wishing to attend the dinner only will be charged $25. Boosters are looking for sponsors and raffle prizes, big or small.
