Marvel Studios, a major draw for Comic-Con International patrons who relentlessly queue up to see stars of upcoming movies, may not be presenting at Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center this July, according to the social post of one Hollywood movie director.
\n“Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn was asked in a March 7 Facebook chat if he would be in San Diego for the annual convention of pop culture in a few months.
\n“I’m not sure,” he responded. “Marvel isn’t going, so I’m not sure I will either.”Man” Bloggers jumped on the statement that hints that Marvel Studios \u2013 not Marvel as a whole \u2013 will skip the event, scheduled for July 9 to 12. This year, Marvel was expected to return with its annual entourage of big celebrity names to promote the upcoming movies “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Ant Man.”
\nMarvel’s longest-running superhero team, the Fantastic Four, will be featured in the upcoming movie from 20th Century Fox.
\nComic-Con 2015 spokesperson David Glanzer said his staff normally doesn’t begin planning the exhibit floor layout or the panel schedule until the beginning of May.
\nEven so, Glanzer said not everyone appears every year.
\n‘It\u2019s not unusual for a studio to miss a day or a studio to combine their presentation with another studio slot,” Glanzer said. “As of right now, we haven\u2019t heard anything.”
