A previous sex offender pleaded guilty June 28 to molesting two boys including one at a Mission Beach arcade and is expected to get a 66-year prison term.
\nDaniel James Tauro, who will turn 67 later this year, pleaded guilty to 11 counts involving the two victims when he appeared before San Diego Superior Court Judge Robert O\u2019Neill.
\nO\u2019Neill told him he would likely receive a sentence of 66 years in prison that included consecutive terms. Tauro said he was aware of that penalty.
\nSentencing was set for Aug. 31. Tauro remains in jail without bail.
\nTauro is getting such a long term because of the three strikes law and a consecutive 10 term for his prior convictions, said O\u2019Neill.
\nOne incident occurred at 2:50 p.m. Dec. 30 inside the Belmont Park Arcade in the 3100 block of Mission Boulevard. A 10-year-old boy said he was groped while he was in the arcade playing games.
\nThe second boy was 9 years old and Tauro was charged with molesting him after charges were filed in the first case. Tauro lived in downtown San Diego at the time.
\nTauro was declared a habitual sex offender in Los Angeles as a result of a molestation conviction in 1993, according to court records. He was convicted in 2000 of attempted lewd act with a child.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
