A Sept. 18 preliminary hearing has been set for a former Point Loma man who is charged with killing his wife whose body was found in San Diego Bay in 2016.
\nThe hearing date was set April 26 when Matthew Scott Sullivan, 33, appeared at a status conference before San Diego Superior Court Judge Jay Bloom and agreed to delay the hearing, which had been set in July. Elizabeth Sullivan, 32, was last seen alive on Oct. 13, 2014, but her decomposed body was found Oct. 6, 2016.
\nMatthew Sullivan was arrested Jan. 31 in Delaware after a case was filed against him here. The couple\u2019s two daughters, age 5 and 7, are now in the custody of their mother\u2019s father in Virginia.
\nThe body was found at the edge of the bay at 2600 Farragut Road in 2016 on the very day Matthew Sullivan was moving out of military housing in the Liberty Station area. He was in the Navy at the time.
\nThe District Attorney said in a news conference on Feb. 14 that Elizabeth Sullivan was in the midst of leaving her husband when she was killed.
\nIf convicted, he faces a sentence of 25 years to life for first-degree murder plus one year consecutively for using a knife in a homicide.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
