On March 24 about 100 supporters, family and friends gathered at a historic Bird Rock home to kick-off Joe LaCava\u2019s bid for a seat on the San Diego City Council.
\n“I have been a devoted community member for decades and now I\u2019m ready, with the full support of my family, to get things done for my neighbors at City Hall,” said LaCava. “I am ready to be the next Council member for District 1.”
\nRunning on the slogan “Real experience, real results,” La Cava said his grassroots campaign would focus on “improving services people really expect from the city and cutting through the bureaucracy, helping them get the answers they need.”
\n“We can be smarter, and more candid about how we go about dealing with them and really show some leadership,” said LaCava about handling citywide issues like homelessness and housing affordability.
\nThe candidate touted his broad support including early endorsements from former County Supervisor Pam Slater-Price and Nancy Warwick of Warwick\u2019s Bookstore.\u00a0
