Wrestlers at Point Loma High School have earned numerous medals during early season tournaments.
\nDuring “The Battle by the Beach” varsity tournament at Mar Vista High School, the Pointers finished with the fourth-best overall team score.
\nThe team was led by Nathan Maracle (152 pounds) and Michael Serrano (285), who both captured second-place medals.
\nThird-place finishers were Chase Harris (113), Matt Maller (138) and Ezekiel Cruz (172).
\nCorrell Thomas (220) and Kele Frost (126) each scored fifth-place awards.
\nIn the Carlsbad Varsity Tournament, Serrano wrestled his way to the finals before recording a second-place finish. Harris took third and Maracle ended in fifth place.
\nIn the John Bright Tournament at Poway for junior varsity grapplers, four Pointers reached the final round as the team finished with the sixth-highest score and seven medal winners.
\nAngel Milan-Sanchez (152), Brian Martinez (138), Arthur Daniels (220) and Tomas Ronge (98) each took home a second-place medal.
\nBryson Lamb (138) took a third-place honor, while Ricky Jimenez (120) and Will Wilson finished in fourth.
