Six-foot-seven-inch Mission Bay High Buccaneer forward C.J. Rayford, a senior, collected four rebounds and converted a free throw from the charity stripe, but it wasn\u2019t quite enough as the South boys suffered a tough 103-100 loss to the North in the San Diego County High School Basketball All-Star Game played at Horizon High School on April 22. Rayford said it was an honor to be chosen to participate in this contest when one considers all of the great high school basketball players in the San Diego Section. “It\u2019s definitely a big deal to be\u00a0picked to play in this game,” said Rayford.\u00a0 “It was fun going out there and trying to win.\u00a0Unfortunately, we lost.\u00a0 But it\u2019s been an honor to compete with players of this caliber.\u00a0It\u2019s a good way to be able to close out my high school career.” Rayford said he\u2019s still undecided as to where he will be attending college in the fall. “I have Eastern Washington, Southern Texas and Lewis & Clark all still looking at me,” he said. “I\u2019ll probably be making my decision at the end of the month.”<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
