Two senior members of Point Loma High’s CIF Open Division runner-up\u00a0championship team have received post-season honors.
\nTeam captain Will Barba received first team honors, placing him among the top 12 players in San Diego and Imperial Counties, while Chris Bourdon was selected for the second team.
\nBarba played center back for the Pointers.
\n“Will is a\u00a0great leader who is an excellent one-on-one defender, dominant in the air, and has scored in two CIF finals,” said Pointer head coach Elliott Savitz.\u00a0
\nBarba was recruited by Amherst College of Massachusetts, but has decided not to continue his playing career.
\nBourdon, a center forward, quickly elevated his play as a Pointer.
\n“Chris is probably our most improved player,” Savitz\u00a0noted. “He went from barely playing as a junior to hardly ever coming off the pitch as a senior. He is deadly when taking opponents on, creates numerous chances with effective dribbling and scores in the big games.”
\nBourdon plans to play at Cal State Los Angeles in the fall.\u00a0
