{"id":290002,"date":"2015-08-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-08-28T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdnews.com\/cove-lifeguard-station-work-delayed-a-third-time\/"},"modified":"2015-08-28T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-08-28T07:00:00","slug":"cove-lifeguard-station-work-delayed-a-third-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/cove-lifeguard-station-work-delayed-a-third-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Cove lifeguard station work delayed a third time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lifeguards have to wait a little longer to move into a new $1.85 million station at La Jolla Cove, as the project has been delayed yet again.<br \/>\nThe City of San Diego Public Works Department said the contractor, APR Construction, incorrectly installed an accessibility ramp and that the work must now be redone at the contractor\u2019s expense.<br \/>\n&#8220;I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on,&#8221; said Duane Thompson, one of the many visitors who feel the construction zone is an eyesore. &#8220;I don\u2019t know why they don\u2019t get it done.&#8221; Construction on the tower started in February of 2014 and was supposed to be completed by December of that year. Problems pushed back the finish date to May of this year and then again to the summer.<br \/>\nThe city says the project will be completed by mid-September.<br \/>\nLifeguards say the new tower will give them a better view of the cove and provide better protection.<br \/>\n&#8220;We\u2019re super-excited about it. It\u2019s a great new tower. We\u2019re looking forward to moving in,&#8221; said Sgt.
