Most of the birds were cockatiels flying freely inside the unit, living in unsanitary conditions.\u00a0<br \/>\nEach bird will be examined by a San Diego Humane Society veterinarian in our mobile unit on scene, before being brought to our San Diego Campus at 5500 Gaines St. for further examination.<br \/>\nFor the safety of the animals and our staff, the birds will be placed under quarantine and monitored by our medical team for any type of disease.<br \/>\n&#8220;It is extremely sad to see animals living like this, but we are glad we are able to get these birds the care they need,&#8221; said Sgt. Laurel Monreal.<br \/>\nThis case is an open Humane Law Enforcement investigation.
