In addition to thousands of car aficionados flocking to the La Jolla Motor Car Classic at Ellen Browning Scripps Park on April 3, the nearby Children\u2019s Pool saw a larger-than-usual crowd of both beach-goers and activists. Seal-protection advocates held a rally Sunday afternoon, displaying signage throughout the day and voicing their support for making beach access a pinniped-only right. Meanwhile, dozens of pro-access proponents settled on the &#8220;seal side&#8221; of the no access rope \u2014 with kids playing in the shallow waters, divers entering the reef and many others settling in the sand, soaking up the sun during its rare appearances through the clouds.
