We recently returned after many years&#8217; absence to live in the old family home. Our son, John Livingstone, who used to live in Seattle, tells this story: Some of the locals got tired of the seals eating their salmon. They rounded up a boatload of seals, and the load was brought down the coast and dumped in the ocean off La Jolla. It was told to us as true; it makes sense, and I have no reason to doubt it!
