PLNU received 160 points to narrowly edge defending conference champions BYU-Hawaii.<br \/>\nThe Sea Lions also had three student-athletes named to the seven-person Preseason All-PacWest Team. Savannah Wedemeyer was named the preseason Setter of the Year, while Alyssa Dwyer and Heather Leavitt joined her on the preseason all-conference team as a middle blocker and outside hitter, respectively.<br \/>\nPoint Loma received five of the 13 first-place votes and was ranked second or better on 12 of the 13 ballots to accumulate its 160 points.
