Salerno-Sonnenberg, the music director of the group, was the subject of the 2000 Academy-Award-nominated documentary &#8220;Speaking in Strings.&#8221; She was the youngest-ever winner of the Walter W. Naumburg International Violin Competition when she won the prize at age 20 in 1981.
