Residents with identification showing proof of residency can get up to 10\u00a0empty\u00a0bags. Sandbags are available anytime between\u00a01 and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.\u00a0<br \/>\nSandbags are available at: Council District 2<br \/>\nRobb Athletic Field<br \/>\n2525 Bacon St. Council District 1<br \/>\nStandley Recreation Center<br \/>\n3585 Governor Drive. City preparations for the impending rain are underway including placing &#8220;no parking signs&#8221; in low-lying and other flood prone areas, sweeping critical locations around drains and inlets that typically experience heavy debris build-up, monitoring storm drain locations, and installing bypass pumps where the infrastructure may be overwhelmed by storm waters. During the rains, 15 crews from the City\u2019s Storm Patrol will be actively patrolling, monitoring areas in the city and responding to instances including temporary flooding and downed trees or tree branches.\u00a0<br \/>\nJust as preparations are underway city-wide, residents can individually prepare for the rains and help reduce the risk of flooding near their homes and properties by engaging in a few\u00a0simple steps: \u2022 Sweep and pick up trash, leaves, grass clippings and other debris that collects around the storm drains and curb gutters near your home. \u2022 Keep the lid securely closed on trash and recycle bins when placing them out on the street for collection and place each bin approximately 2 to 3 feet away from the curb so as not to impede the storm water flowing on the street.\u00a0 \u2022 Know the safest routes to and from your home or property should flooding occur. \u2022 Slow down and do not drive, ride or walk through flood waters.<br \/>\nResidents can report events such as flooding or downed trees by using the\u00a0Get It Done\u00a0application or by calling 619-527-7500.
