With celebrity judges, delicious refreshments, and a few surprises in store, there will be a night of fantastic singers, dancers, bands, and unique acts showcasing the amazing talent of MBHS students. Tickets are $5 at the door.<br \/>\n&#8211; MBHS Music Japan Fundraiser, will take place 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 at Pacific Beach Women&#8217;s Club. Enjoy an exciting night of music, food, and dancing as Sue Palmer, queen of boogie woogie, joins the Mission Bay Preservationists. Bring your appetite as chef Carlos will be cooking up his famous paella. All ages are welcome. Barnard Elementary<br \/>\n&#8211; In recognition of the vital role that creative arts play in students\u2019 academic achievement, Barnard Mandarin Magnet Elementary has rolled out a new supplemental art curriculum in the 2018-19 school year. Barnard\u2019s PTA purchased licensing and materials for Arts Attack, a San Diego-based company that provides visual art curricula for elementary schools, to teach students the elements and principles of art and to introduce them over the next five years to works from famous artists, other cultures, and historical periods.\u00a0<br \/>\nOne of the second grade classrooms completed a dragon-themed lesson where students studied pictures of dragons from China and medieval England to interpret their story and meaning.\u00a0Twins Saylor and Journey M. participated in the dragon lesson and interpreted the subject matter in unique ways. FOPBSS &#8211; Held at Mission Bay&#8217;s De Anza Cove on March 24, all proceeds from the Schoolyard Dash 5K went to support PB schools. Top honors for each division went to: Tejas Gluth \u2013 Elementary, Autumn Hayes \u2013 Elementary, Jack O&#8217;Toole \u2013 Middle, Lauren Pelot \u2013 Middle, TK Berhe \u2013 High School, Dianna Lopresti \u2013 High School, Ernest Remillard \u2013 Adult, and Katie Matchelt \u2013 Adult.
