But a new\u00a0app,\u00a0recently launched\u00a0in San\u00a0Diego,\u00a0could potentially save you the Advil.?\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>Drivewayz\u00a0is a free app that allows drivers to rent private parking spots for roughly $10 an hour.\u00a0Customers also have the option to book a\u00a0parking spot days\u00a0in advance.?\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>The app was founded in Boulder, Colorado last year, and CEO Reese Barracks said he chose\u00a0San Diego for the company&#8217;s headquarters because it was &#8220;more open to new ideas.&#8221; The app is\u00a0available nationwide.?\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>&#8220;The idea came to me when I was in school, and my friends and I were searching for a spot up\u00a0and down a local street,&#8221; Barracks said. &#8220;There was a concert going on and it got pretty crowded.\u00a0We would pass open driveway after open driveway but all the street parking was taken.?\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>&#8220;I just\u00a0thought,\u00a0\u2018I would totally pay a few bucks an hour to park in one of these open parking spots.\u00a0And I\u2019m sure people would love to make extra cash since they\u2019re not being used.\u2019&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>Users who sign up their driveways can set their availability to certain times, be it 24 hours a day or\u00a0one hour a month.\u00a0Drivewayz\u00a0currently doesn\u2019t cover insurance for the driver or the homeowner,\u00a0but Barracks said that\u2019s something they\u2019d like to offer eventually, once they get more customers.?\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>Currently, the app has\u00a0more than\u00a0600 downloads and is only available on iOS with Android\u00a0availability coming in the near future.?\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>&#8220;We\u2019re really trying to create parking for the community from community members,&#8221; Barracks\u00a0said. &#8220;Putting money back into the local economy as opposed to the widespread parking industry.&#8221;?\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>At the essence of it, Barracks said\u00a0Drivewayz\u00a0is like saving &#8220;an extra spot for your neighbor.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>For more information about\u00a0Drivewayz, visit?<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/drivewayz.io\/\">drivewayz.io<\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Driving up and down city streets, meticulously looking for a parking spot is a community-wide\u00a0headache that most residents have come to know \u2014 and hate.
