There will be cash prizes and celebrity judges. Jen Smith, national longboard champion; Academy Award-nominated documentary artist Larisa Hall; and Jack Conca, affectionately known as &#8220;Mr. Frostie,&#8221; will cast their votes for the most original, polished, entertaining act. Come and see the crazy talented students of Mission Bay High! Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased in advance in the school office or the night of the event. \u2022 The Mission Bay High School Robotics Team (Team 4160) has completed a remote-controlled Frisbee-throwing, pyramid-climbing robot and will be participating in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition in the Valley View Casino Arena between March 7-9. This is the second year Mission Bay High School will be competing in the FIRST Regional Competition. Thanks to sponsors FOPBSS (Friends of Pacific Beach Secondary Schools), JC Penney and Qualcomm, FIRST, Luna Games and CCTE of SDUSD, the MBHS Robotics Team \u2014 after countless hours of work \u2014 has an outstanding competition robot and is looking forward to competing in March. A special thanks to Mr. Alex Cannon, robotics mentor and engineering teacher at MBHS, whose commitment and talents have inspired this year\u2019s robotics team to create a versatile, aggressive, potentially award winning robot! \u2022 Mission Bay High Open House is scheduled for Thursday, March 14 at 6 p.m. Visit the classrooms and learn about the curriculum at Mission Bay High. The evening will begin with a short presentation in the auditorium. <b>PACIFIC BEACH MIDDLE SCHOOL<\/b> \u2022 Students at Pacific Beach Middle School have grown enough organic lettuce in their school garden to feature it in the cafeteria\u2019s salad bar. &#8220;The PBMS garden club will be supplying the cafeteria salad bar with fresh produce on Fridays, whenever there is something to harvest,&#8221; said library technician Sally Kaufman. &#8220;It looks like we\u2019ll have enough to harvest for several weeks and maybe more.&#8221; \u2022 College, Make it Happen!
